Luca Patanè is the President of Uvet | American Express Global Business Travel and of the Uvet Group, a leader in Italian tourism and in providing innovative products and solutions for business trips, mobility, tourism, incoming delegations, and corporate events. Luca Patanè joined Uvet in 1989, working in high-level positions. When his father, the founder of the agency, died, Patanè became Head of Sales, then CEO in 1995, and finally President.

In 2001 Luca Patanè sealed the most important agreement in Italy in the sector of corporate travel: in a joint venture with American Express, he created Uvet American Express – today Uvet | Amex GBT. The Uvet Group thus became the most important provider of tourism services in the Italian market, with a presence in France, Switzerland, Romania, and northern European markets as well after the acquisition of an important Swedish OTA.

Since June 2013 he has also held the role of President of Confcommercio – Confturismo, a membership association that coordinates the tourism segment promoted by Confcommercio – Imprese per l’Italia.

In 2016 Luca Patanè was named Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, upon proposal by the Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda.

In 2017 he became the owner of Settemari, one of the most important tour operators in Italy, and of Blue Panorama Airlines, an entirely Italian airline company that offers flights and charters for long, medium, and short routes to more than 54 destinations on 4 continents (Africa, America, Asia, and Europe).

Luca Patanè is also the Presidente of Atlante Foundation, a non-profit association committed to charitable initiatives that focus on safeguarding cultural heritage and sustainable tourism.
